🔹Bridging to Moonriver

Zircon is a decentralized exchange currently living on Moonriver as Zircon Gamma.

Your first step to use Zircon will be to bridge some coins to your wallet on Moonriver. Moonriver supports most wallets meant for Ethereum, including Metamask. You don’t need to change wallet addresses, as your address on Ethereum is the same on Moonriver.

Zircon directly supports Metamask, as well as most of the others thanks to WalletConnect. Exceptions to this rule are Coinbase Wallet and MyEtherWallet, which use their own standards. A special integration we have is for Talisman, a Polkadot-native wallet that supports both Substrate-based chains and the EVM-based Moonriver/Moonbeam.

If you’ve set up your wallet, you’ll now need to get some tokens in it. There are several ways you can do this. (Feel free to skip this section if you already have tokens in your Moonriver wallet).

Option #1: Withdraw MOVR from Centralized Exchanges

A good way to bring your assets to Moonriver is to buy MOVR on the many exchanges that support it. You can check all exchanges that support it on CoinGecko. Some good examples are Binance, Kraken, Crypto.com, Gate.io.

Once you’ve bought MOVR, just withdraw it to your Moonriver wallet. You can then swap it on Zircon for stablecoins or other tokens you need.

One useful thing about this method is you don’t need to worry about how you’ll pay for gas on the Moonriver network, since you already have everything in MOVR.

Option #2: Use a decentralized Bridge

If you have tokens on Ethereum, Avalanche and other blockchains, a good way to transfer them to Moonriver is with bridges.

We recommend Multichain. It’s a battle tested bridge holding the largest liquidity for Moonriver, and Zircon uses its bridged tokens in liquidity pools.

You can bridge to Moonriver with the largest ETH tokens, including ETH, USDT, USDC, LDO and quite a few others. Unfortunately Multichain doesn’t support direct transfers to Moonriver from other networks like BNB Chain, Polygon etc. So if you have assets there, you’ll need to bridge them back to Ethereum first.

Bridging assets is quite simple. First, select the token you wish to transfer and select Moonriver as the destination network.

You’ll need to have more tokens than the minimum required by the bridge (usually between $20 and $40 worth).

Once you’ve selected the amount, just hit Swap. Make sure that all the data is correct. Multichain automatically sends the tokens to your address on the other network, so there aren’t many things that can go wrong (make sure you’re using a wallet that allows you to switch to Moonriver! Metamask is the best for this).

Once you hit confirm on the app, it will ask to again confirm the transaction on your wallet.

You’ll need to pay the gas fee on Ethereum, but there’s no commission for the Moonriver side (at least when this guide was written). In 10-30 minutes, you’ll see the tokens on your Moonriver wallet.

Use Moonscan if you want to quickly check your wallet balance on the Moonriver side.
